Is it still worth playing?

A tactical role-playing game that took the Shining series into 3D on the Sega Saturn, released in Japan in three parts across 1997 and 1998 and in the West as only the first. Battles are turn based on square grids, and each unit moves a fixed distance and then attacks, casts a spell, uses an item or searches. Units gain levels from fighting and from healing allies, and a character can be promoted to a new class between level 10 and 20, which resets the level to 1. Each scenario follows a different character's view of one shared story, and saved data carries forward through the Synchronicity system. It was the last Shining game from the original developer, Camelot Software Planning. Fan translations later added the other two scenarios. Each scenario is a new view of the same war, which gives the three parts a reason to be played in turn.
