The Darkness 2007

Is it still worth playing?

Jackie Estacado, a mobster, is targeted for assassination on his twenty first birthday by his uncle Paulie Franchetti, in this 2007 first person shooter from Starbreeze Studios. The Darkness, an ancient demonic force that has lived in his bloodline for generations, violently appears and massacres his pursuers. With his new powers he dismantles Paulie's drug and money laundering operations. Jackie narrates the story himself. Later he finds himself in the Otherworld, a hellish landscape controlled by the Darkness that resembles the trenches of World War I, inhabited by undead soldiers. It is based on the comic book series from Top Cow and was made for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A sequel followed in 2012. A demon in your blood still gives a mob story a dark twist.
