About this game
Illusion Softworks' 2002 game, set in Lost Heaven, an invented American city, and following a taxi driver called Tommy Angelo into a crime family. It is a set of missions rather than a sandbox. You drive to the job, you do the job, and the city in between is somewhere you drive carefully rather than a playground. The police book you for speeding and for running a red light, and the fine is real, so most of the driving is done at the limit. The cars are period, they change as the years pass, they take damage properly, and almost none of them will do more than sixty. Twenty one years go by over the course of the story. Driving at the limit is the point rather than the punishment, because at that speed you actually look at the city.
