About this game
Rockstar's 2002 crime game, set in a 1986 city modelled on Miami, where Tommy Vercetti comes out of prison and starts buying the place. That is the change from Grand Theft Auto III. Properties and businesses pay you an income once their missions are done, so the map stops being somewhere to drive through and becomes something you own pieces of. It runs to over four square kilometres across two islands that open as the story does, and it brought motorcycles into the series. Nine radio stations play under all of it, seven of music and two of talk. The city is still the reason to go back, because it is a place with an economy and a radio dial, not only a map with missions on it.
