Is it still worth playing?

Alec Mason helps the Red Faction overthrow the oppressive Earth Defense Force on Mars, in this 2009 open world third person shooter from Volition, the third Red Faction game. Its Geo-Mod 2.0 engine lets you destroy buildings, cover and other structures, so you can break through walls or level tall buildings and bridges. Destroying buildings leaves behind salvage, the currency, which you use at safehouses to unlock and upgrade weapons and technology. You always carry a sledgehammer, plus three slots for other weapons and explosives chosen from almost twenty, and you can control armed vehicles from civilian ones to tanks and large walkers. Destruction is not scripted, so the same rocket blast never makes the same hole twice, and every building component has mass. A world full of structures to level still makes each mission a choice.
