Is it still worth playing?
Parker, a miner on Mars in the late 21st century, helps lead a rebellion against the Ultor Corporation, in this 2001 first person shooter from Volition. Its premiere feature is Geo-Mod, short for geometry modification, which lets you destroy sections of the scenery: instead of opening a door, you can blast through the rock around it. Earlier games allowed only limited, scripted changes to the environment, and Red Faction was the first to allow unscripted level altering. The PC version has an extra level called Glass House, a sandbox to experiment with the technology. The PlayStation 2 version has offline split screen multiplayer with bots and up to four human players. The game was inspired by several works of contemporary science fiction. Blasting your own path through walls still makes every room a new problem.
