About this game
Nintendo's 1995 SNES game, in which you play Yoshi carrying Baby Mario on your back across forty eight levels and six worlds. There is no health bar. Take a hit and Mario floats off in a bubble while a timer counts down, and if it reaches zero somebody arrives and takes him away. That timer is the stars you are carrying, and they are scattered everywhere to be picked back up. Yoshi eats enemies and turns them into eggs, up to six trailing behind him, and the aim is a cursor swinging back and forth, so a shot can be bounced off a wall. The flutter jump holds him up a moment longer than a jump should. It was drawn by hand and scanned in, which is why the backgrounds look like crayon. Losing Mario is a countdown rather than a death, which lets the game be hard without being punishing.
