Guybrush Threepwood returns from his honeymoon and finds his wife Elaine declared dead, in this 2000 adventure from LucasArts, the fourth Monkey Island game. Her office is up for election, and he has to restore her to office while uncovering a plot to turn the Caribbean into a tourist trap, led by his nemesis LeChuck and an Australian businessman. It is the first game in the series with 3D graphics, and the only one not controlled by point and click. It is controlled by keyboard or joystick, with action lines that let you pick what Guybrush looks at. Insult sword fighting returns in a different form, as insult arm wrestling, and later a sub game called Monkey Kombat. The story mixes jokes and puns with hundreds of puzzles. A funny pirate story with puzzles of all kinds still suits a slow evening.
