Is it still worth playing?

A 2002 racing game, the sixth Need for Speed, with cars from high performance and exotic manufacturers, and you can race or play as a police officer and pursue speeders. It emphasizes evading the police and over the top courses with lengthy shortcuts, and draws on Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit. There are two main modes. World Racing Championship has you race other drivers, and Hot Pursuit Ultimate Racer adds police, so you have to finish while evading capture. Race types include Delivery, a timed point to point dash with the police in pursuit, Sprint, Time Trial with medals and Knockout. EA Black Box made the PlayStation 2 version, and EA Seattle a different one for other systems. There are 12 tracks with 48 variations, and two career event trees add up to 66 events. Playing as the police still turns a race into a chase.
